Homepage News/Calendar The Ignatian Newsletter From the Head of Junior School Article information Time 15 May 2024 On this page The Greatest Gift Important Upcoming Dates The Greatest Gift It has been wonderful welcoming everyone back into Term 2 with a hive of rich activity. Our first week saw students from Years 3 to 6 engage in the annual music camp held on site at the Junior School. Coming off timetable, our students were involved in their various ensembles, learning new repertoire and enjoying the presentation from the guest musician. The depth and quality of the program was evident in the open rehearsal on the Friday afternoon, during which time parents were invited to see their child’s progress from the previous day’s hard work. Thanks go to the staff and tutors who planned and prepared the event. And, of course, we are always so proud of our students who exceed expectations in the talent and joy they bring to these wonderful opportunities. In other circles, we celebrate the quality of the Junior School aerobics participants, who competed in the local Federation of International Sport Aerobics and Fitness (FISAF) competitions recently. All teams entered into different group divisions and gave their very best in what eventuated in a clean sweep of gold medal places. Well done to all the students involved, and their coaches, on this tremendous achievement. We wish them continued luck as they progress to the state rounds later in the year. To celebrate Mother's Day, we welcomed so many mothers, grandmothers, and special friends to our community on Monday morning. It was so lovely to share some time in good company with each other before celebrating what mothers mean to us in our whole-school liturgy, led by Year 3 Gold. Through our mothers, we are loved into becoming, before we enter this world. It is through our mothers that we learn of love, how to love, and how we can give our love to the world. As sung beautifully by our Year 3 Gold students: “Even though she gets no sleep, she always looks so young. The greatest gift I’ve ever had is my mum.”Nic BoysHead of Junior School Important Upcoming Dates Please take note of some special events at the Junior School during Weeks 4 and 5: Wednesday 22 MayNational Simultaneous Storytime Tuesday 28 MayYear 3 AFL Max Overnight CampInstrumental Soiree in Auditorium Wednesday 29 MayInstrumental Soiree in Auditorium Previous From the Head of Senior School Next From the Co-Curricular Department
