Supporting the culture of belonging, growth, engagement, and companionship

Co-Curricular exists to support and further the culture of belonging, growth, engagement and companionship for students and the College community. Through involvement in co-curricular, students experience belonging to the smaller communities of their sports, activities, teams and groups. They are provided with opportunities to grow in physical, cognitive and human competencies, reflective of our Ignatian values.

Students are afforded opportunities to engage in both performance and participation experiences enhancing self and social development.

The co-curricular program invites students to benefit from and contribute to the formation of community through the companionship experienced between students and their families and with teachers and coaches.

The principles underpinning our program:

  • Co-Curricular enhances the holistic formation of students.
  • Co-Curricular provides an avenue for students to develop and demonstrate Ignatian values.
  • Students are afforded opportunities to grow in their skills and abilities (physical, cognitive and human) and achieve to their potential within the co-curricular activities.
  • College community is built through the contributions of students, families and staff to co-curricular, and as such students and staff are expected to contribute to the co-curricular program.
  • Co-Curricular encourages involvement in physical activity to support students in meeting the Australian Physical Activity Guidelines.

Participation to Performance

Our co-curricular program offers a comprehensive pathway from participation to performance, providing numerous opportunities for students to grow and excel. Through active involvement, all students can enjoy the physical, social-emotional and cognitive benefits of participation in co-curricular. Those seeking to further their development are provided tailored opportunities to enhance their skills and performance. These opportunities not only focus on player improvement but also on cultivating other competencies such as coaching, officiating, and leadership. All participants in the program are encouraged to take advantage of these development experiences, fostering a well-rounded formation and skill set.
