A Farewell, A New Beginning

As we approach the close of 2024, it is with a heart full of gratitude and reflection that I write this final newsletter for the year.

Just recently, we celebrated our Year 12 Graduation Ball - a truly unforgettable evening. For these young people, it was the culmination of 13 years of hard work, growth, and transformation. Just a short time ago, they walked through our school gates as Ignatian students, but on that night, they stood before us as Old Ignatians for the very first time. It was a celebration not only of their achievements, but of the remarkable journey they’ve taken—together, as part of our school community.

The evening was filled with both tears of joy and tears of sadness. Not only was this a very special night to celebrate our students, but it was an incredibly special night to celebrate our parents and families. We often say that we don’t simply enrol students, we enrol families, and nights like this remind us of the truth in that statement. We are not just bidding farewell to students, but to the families that have shared their lives with us for so many years. It is a poignant moment of recognition that as much as our graduates are stepping forward into new chapters, so too are their families, releasing them with love, pride, and hope.

As a parent of young children myself, I often hear other parents speak of how quickly these years pass. They fondly recall the sleepless nights with newborns, the endless nappy changes, the joy of playgrounds and the chaos of messy homes. Yet, on a night like the Year 12 Graduation Ball, our graduating parents remind us that the passage of time is a precious gift, and reflect on those early moments with deep fondness, as they now look ahead to the bright futures of their children, now embarking on adulthood.

To our graduates of 2024, our newest Old Ignatians, we wish you every success and happiness. May your future be as bright as the hopes we have for you. We are so proud of the people you have become, and excited for all that lies ahead in your journey.

To all of our families, thank you for your unwavering support throughout 2024. As I reflect on my first year here at the College, I am deeply grateful for the warm welcome I have received. The strength and energy within our community, the kindness and generosity of our parents and friends, has been a true gift. Together, we are building something special, and I cannot wait to continue this journey with you all in the years to come.

And as we look ahead to 2025 and beyond, there is much to be excited about in our school community. With the Christmas season approaching, I wish you all a very special and peaceful time with loved ones. May you find joy, rest, and rejuvenation in the holidays. As we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, may His light continue to guide and inspire us, bringing hope and peace to all.

Fee Update

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

When considering our fee schedule each year, the College Board and Finance & Audit Committee undergo a thorough discernment process, with ultimate approval through Jesuit Education Australasia. Fee increases are made to ensure we continue to provide the highest quality education that our families can expect for their children’s long-term growth and success.

We understand and appreciate the significant financial commitment you have made for your children to receive the highest standards of learning and care. We realise that our families make great sacrifices to send their children to the College and we always endeavour to set appropriate fees. A fee increase in 2025 of 4.75% reflects the increasing costs of delivering top-level, contemporary education and services to our students and families.

We are grateful that you have put your faith in our College for this important period of time for your family and we are committed to seeing each of our students achieve their very best. Any families wishing to have a private and confidential discussion regarding any concerns around fees or affordability, please reach out to Rosanne Vitagliano (r.vitagliano@ignatius.sa.edu.au) who will be able to discuss this with you in the utmost confidence.

A summary of the 2025 fees can be found here.

We thank parents for their ongoing support of the College.
