Entry into these ensembles is by audition only. Students are now able to access their set piece from the Seqta Portal "Music Ensemble Auditions". Here you will find a set piece for each instrument in type of ensemble (Concert Band, Big Band, Vocal Ensemble) and a recording of the music to listen to. There will be one audition day for Vocal Ensembles where you will sing the set piece to the audition panel and one day of auditions for bands and orchestra where you will play your piece or pieces in one audition for the panel. We strongly encourage you to access the music now and begin working on it with your Instrumental Music Tutors. Although it was a warm week, the day was perfect for our students to showcase their talents. The College fielded four squads in the team event. Competitors: Max Faraone, Noah Till, Marko Paleka, Toby Pontt, Hugh Carney, Javier Pogliacomi, Theo Poulton, Alex Ainscough, Alex Corbo, Joey Mazur, Harry Hodges and Josh Kavanagh. For the junior team, Max begun well putting the team in a good position going into the cycle leg. Noah rode that momentum and pushed his bike to the limits. Marko ran superbly and pressed for a podium finish; the boys just fell short crossing the line in fourth place. Joey started the swimming leg strongly. As he emerged from the water, the team was looking strong. Despite early bike issues, Harry’s cycling narrowed the gap to the leaders, leaving Josh to finish the run leg. His super quick 5km time was impressive to see, leading the team to a fourth-place finish. The other two boys’ intermediate teams competed admirably. Theo and Toby led their squads in the swim while Alex C and Javier pushed hard in the cycling leg while Hugh and Alex A competed the third and final leg of the carnival. It was a fantastic day watching the students get out of their comfort zone, they should be proud of their efforts on the day, and we look forward to their progression next year.
