We celebrated a very special morning, welcoming a great number of fathers and father figures to our community this Monday. Between the bacon and egg rolls and coffee there was something much more special on offer to commemorate Father’s Day, and that was a matter of conversar – the intimate conversation and interaction that takes place between family members who love each other. Joined by their loved ones, our students were so excited and proud to share their school, their friends, and a game of table tennis or the kick of a footy.

Class 2 Red beautifully showcased what a father’s love is in our whole-school liturgy. Parents provide that gift of unconditional love. Through parents, their children learn of love and how they can give this love and light to the world. It may be an ambitious goal, but this is a goal shared in partnership between the College and all our families. All of our students bring light into the world in their own unique way. We also encourage them, as St Ignatius said to Francis Xavier, to ‘go set the world alight’.

I wish to extend my congratulations to our three aerobics teams who recently competed in the FISAF National Championships at the Gold Coast. Having successfully qualified through state championships, our athletes worked extremely hard to hone their skills in preparation for this elite level of competition. We are so proud of all our teams who retained or improved their national ranking in this competition, with special mention to Iggies Pink who came third in their division. Thank you to all the parents who supported their children. They developed extraordinary resilience and care for one another while representing the school at these levels of competition. We couldn’t be prouder of their achievements and the way they have conducted themselves.
