Jesuit Education is concerned with the development of the whole person. Therefore, a genuine participation in the co-curricular program at Saint Ignatius’ College is a central element of our educational process.

Co-curricular exists to support and further the culture of belonging, growth, engagement and companionship for students and the College community. As such, involvement in Co-curricular is compulsory for all students in Years 5 to 12. Students in younger year levels are encouraged to participate when the opportunity arises.

The principles that underpin Co-curricular at Saint Ignatius’ College include:

• Co-curricular enhances the holistic formation of students
• Co-curricular provides an avenue for students to develop and demonstrate Ignatian values
• Students are afforded opportunities to grow in their skills and abilities (physical, cognitive and human) and achieve to their potential within the Co-curricular activities
• College community is built through the contributions of students, families and staff to co-curricular
• Co-curricular encourages involvement in physical activity to support students in meeting the Australian Physical Activity Guidelines

An extensive co-curricular program is offered to students and is a vital part of College life. Children from Years 5-6 are expected to participate in co-curricular activities, whilst students in the younger years are encouraged to participate when opportunities arise.
