2020 Term 1 Week 5

2020 Term 1 Week 5

P&F - From the President

Dear Parents & Caregivers

On Monday the Parents and Friends Committee hosted an introduction evening for the Parent Reps across all year levels.

Above: Parent Reps at the introduction evening

I welcome all the Parent Reps and thank them for volunteering to help this year. A big thank you goes to our Parent Rep Co-ordinators, Simone Hansch-Maher (Senior School Co-ordinator) and Grace Eliseo (Junior School Co-ordinator) for all their hard work.

Next week, Thursday 5 March, is the House Athletics Carnival (Year 3-Year 12) which will be held at the Senior School.

We are seeking your help with the Bake Stall:

  • Donate baked goods (sweet or savoury) - drop off at the Bake Stall on the day, or at the Junior School before 8:30am on the morning
  • Volunteer some of your time at the Bake Stall.

Email me at pandf@ignatius.sa.edu.au advising what times you would be available to help at the Bake Stall and/or what items you are able to donate.

Thank you

Nik Villios

Meet the Committee of 2020

Committee Member Name: Lydia Williams

Role: Communications Co-ordinator

Child/Children: Chloe, Year 5 and Stephanie, Year 4

About Lydia:

Lydia joined the P&F in 2017 after being a class representative for a couple of years. Lydia really embraced the spirit of the Ignatian community and was heavily involved in the preparations and marketing of the last Gala Ball (wow, what a night! Looking forward to the next one! 15 August, save the date) and other P&F events. In her role of communications co-ordinator, she has been a strong advocate of trying to involve as many parents and care givers in events as possible. Remember, we have a section in The Ignatian newsletter, a page on Facebook and a noticeboard at the Junior School to keep up to date with events. The Class Representatives are an extension of the P&F committee and are a wealth of information too. Remember next week is the Combined Athletics Day at the Senior School. We are still looking for volunteers and baked goods. But what we would really like is for you to come and say “hi”, we all love to chat!

Lydia was an old scholar of Saint Ignatius' College. She has had many career paths including podiatry, pharmaceutical sales and teaching. Lydia now works at Monarto Safari Park and works as a sales representative for Olive and Bee. When she finds time she still loves to volunteer at the Adelaide Zoo.

Lydia hopes to continue to build on the already strong committee that aims to bring the Ignatian community even closer with friendship and generosity.
