2020 Term 1 Week 3

2020 Term 1 Week 3

P&F - From the President

Dear Parents & Caregivers

Planning has already begun for our first couple of events and the sub-committees are working hard.

The combined Senior and Junior School Athletics Carnival on Thursday 5 March is fast approaching and we’ll be putting a call out soon for helpers on the Bake Stall as well as donating some goods to sell. The funds raised from this go to the sports department of the Junior School and is always a great help to them.

Family Fun Fair on Saturday 28 March will follow the successful format of last year where it will run from 11:00am until 5:00pm with some new features planned this year and many of the favourites returning. A donation drive for toys, uniforms, books, drinks etc will be running at both campuses from the 10 March until 13 March.

We will also be holding an information coffee/tea morning for Parent Reps (we’ll keep you posted on this shortly) to better assist our valued volunteers in these roles, as well as thanking them for their ongoing support. If you are interested in finding out more about being a Parent Rep or more about the Parents & Friends Committee, please do not hesitate to get in contact with me pandf@ignatius.sa.edu.au or follow us on facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ParentsAndFriendsCommittee

Thank you

Nik Villios
President, Parents and Friends Committee 2020

Meet the Committee of 2020

Week 2:

Committee Member Name: Megan Leydon

Role: Vice President, Senior School

Child/Children: Noah, Year 11, and Jemima, who finished Year 12 in 2019

About Megan:

Megan joined the P&F in 2008 and has undertaken a variety of roles within the Committee over the years.  Wanting to become involved in the College community when her children started at the Junior School, Megan has strong memories of the many fun-filled events that were spent with like-minded parents who have become good friends.  Developing connections is really important to Megan and she loves seeing the P&F encourage families to become actively involved in the College community.

Megan has enjoyed a successful career as a town planner.  Although she currently considers herself retired from her town planning career, Megan still maintains an active interest in her local community.  She also enjoys gardening, volunteering at Meals on Wheels, trying to play golf, and seeing movies with girlfriends.  Spreading awareness and fundraising for the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation is another passion of hers, supporting Jemima in hosting annual events.

Excited to be part of the P&F in 2020, Megan hopes that the year ahead brings as much enjoyment as the past twelve have!
