Congratulations to Chloe Whiteman (Year 6) who played in the East Adelaide SAPSASA netball team last week.

Independent Primary Schools Swimming Meet

It was a fantastic start to the Independent Primary Schools Swimming meets for 2019, held at Prince Alfred College on Thursday 13 June, which will involve a further two meets held over the next two College terms. It was especially pleasing to see our students give their best in all their events throughout the day.

Swimmers Placing in the Top 3
Sienna Sedgmen:       3rd in 50 free, 50 breast and 50 fly
Leon Lin:                     2nd 50 free, 1st 50 fly
Juliet Mazur:               2nd 50 fly
Sophie Taylor:             3rd 50 back and 50 fly
Chloe Healy:               3rd 50 free

Highlights of the Day Included
Aleksandra Giro:        3 huge PBs (personal bests) from 3 swims.  Aleksandra is only 8 years old.
Massimo Musolino:    10 sec PB 50 breaststroke
Caitlin Anderson:        8 sec PB 50 backstroke
Gerry Dantalis:          10 second PB 50 backstroke and wonderful swim in his first 50 fly.

Swim of the Day
Alex Giannitto:           50 free, smashing the 40 second barrier with a time of 37.25.

Swimmers of the Meet
Junior:  Sienna Sedgmen and Leon Lin
Senior:  Sophie Taylor and Ethan Leung

Most Improved
Junior:  Grace Pertl and Ethan Li
Senior:  Stefania Musolino

We also managed 3rd in the U11 200m Freestyle Relay.

Despite a very young team (some swimmers only 8 years old) and extremely tough competition (most schools have swimming clubs), the children performed beyond expectation to finish 6th overall with 210 points.
