Old Fashioned School Day in the Junior School
In Year 2 for our inquiry unit this term we have been researching what schools were like in the past compared to now. The students all participated in an Old Fashioned School Day on Wednesday. The teachers were very strict and the students were involved in very formal lessons, these included learning the ‘3Rs’. The desks were arranged in rows, and the children completed their work on slates. They were involved in marching practise, and the teachers even had a cane – but don’t worry, they were only props!
