2020 Term 1 Week 4

Ignatian Ethos

We are now into Week 4 of the school term and I hope everyone has now developed their routines and the confusion of the first couple of weeks of ‘back to school’ is settling.

This may be a time when you have five minutes (seven minutes thirty seconds actually!) to discover something about the man, St Ignatius of Loyola, especially for those of you who are new to the College.

This video outlines the life of Ignatius from the time of his injury in a battle at the age of 30 to his death in 1556 at the age of 65. Click HERE.

Ignatius went through many stages of his growing faith in God. Many people today find comfort in the fact this soldier with many faults was able to turn his life around to become a ‘soldier’ in the Company of Jesus.

In this video you will hear of the book of Spiritual Exercises that Ignatius wrote during his lifetime. This is the basis of all that we do, that is our ‘way of proceeding’, in a Jesuit school.
