2020 Term 2 Week 4

2020 Term 2 Week 4

From the Parents and Friends

Dear Parents & Caregivers

As it’s National Volunteer Week this week (18-24 May), I would like to personally thank everyone who has volunteered their help to the Parents and Friends Committee. Without the generous help and assistance of volunteers, convenors of events and committee members we wouldn’t have the strong sense of community that the College fosters.

A special mention to the Parents and Friends Committee whose tireless work and support has helped bring together some wonderful events, built strong community bonds and has introduced some great new initiatives.

I would also like to thank all the Year Level Reps who have set up closed Facebook pages. It’s great to see involvement and content being shared. There are a couple of year levels still to be organised, so if you are a Year 8, 9 or 12 parent and would like to help set up that group, or if you want to know about joining one of the Senior School year level groups, please contact Simone Hansch-Maher simonehanschmaher@gmail.com. If you wish to join a Junior School year level, please contact Grace Eliseo graceeliseo@hotmail.com.

Thank you.

Meet the Committee of 2020

Committee Member Name: Veronica Mignone

Role: Committee Member

Children: Beautiful, energetic Scarlett – Reception

About Veronica:
As a first-time school Mum, Veronica was keen to get involved in the Ignatian community and joined the P&F Committee at the first opportunity when her daughter Scarlett started at IEY in 2018. She is passionate about making a positive contribution and embracing her and her daughter’s new Ignatian family.

When not wearing her school-mum-hat, Veronica is a litigation lawyer and has been working at HWL Ebsworth Lawyers, previously Kelly & Co. Lawyers, for over 15 years. Veronica advises on commercial disputes and regulatory matters including defamation proceedings acting on behalf of major national media organisations, regulatory investigations and proceedings, corporate governance and freedom of information requests. She also enjoys mentoring students and young lawyers.

Veronica is excited to be a part of such a passionate and dedicated committee focused on developing strong connections within our community to not only enrich our children’s school journey but our journey as parents too.
