From the Head of Senior School
For many of us, last Friday’s Speech Day was the first time that we gathered as a community to celebrate the academic achievements of our students. I was very proud of our senior students and incredibly moved by the speeches from our College Captains Jamie Wong and Daniel Belperio. Jamie reminded us that while it is important to plan for the future, we are encouraged to live in the present and to be men and women for others in the small things we do in our everyday lives. Daniel’s strong message to the students was that they should strive to do better and not aim to be perfect … real people are not perfect and perfect people are not real.
We are to teach our young men and women to be brave, intelligent, compassionate, and empathetic learners as they prepare to tackle the world’s big problems. Our graduates this year are truly ready to take on the challenges before them as they prepare to complete their final examinations. As we look forward to next year, our focus must be on how we can support a culture of continuous improvement … how we can be better!
Please take note of some special events at the Senior School during week 5:

Lord, give me the grace to consider the circumstances of life objectively – to see them from all angles, looking for your invitation in them.
