From the Head of Senior School
The Christian holy day of Pentecost, which is celebrated on the eighth Sunday after Easter, commemorates the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the apostles and other followers of Jesus Christ while they were in Jerusalem celebrating the Feast of Weeks. In Christian tradition, this event represents the birth of the early Church.
At Friday’s Pentecost mass, Ms Pilla and Mr Boria led us in the homily and reminded us that God teaches us through Jesus to love each other, even those who don’t love us, to forgive, to not judge others, to acknowledge our own deficiencies, to have an intimate prayer life, to be always thankful and to inspire others to do the same. To inspire others to do the same…. In fact, it’s the same message that Saint Ignatius and his followers gave us.
