From the Head of Senior School
At our recent Mission Day celebrations, the focus was clearly on supporting the incredible work of the Jesuit Mission in Timor Leste, Cambodia, Vietnam, Daly River, Bathurst Island, and India. We were greatly moved by the reflection at the liturgy, given by our Liturgy Captain, Emily Flaherty, who informed us that “… 41.8% of people in Timor Leste live below the poverty line and have just $2.75 to keep them alive each day. That is less than what you donated this morning to wear casual clothes. For $2.75, I can buy a bus ticket, or a packet of chips. But that $2.75 needs to cover food, water, shelter, clothing, education, transport, healthcare – everything. Do you think you could survive?”
The afternoon concluded with the traditional House Performances, which provided an opportunity for all students to get involved in the spirit of the day. My thanks go to Mr Dillon Mullins for his leadership, together with the Senior Leaders and House Mentors, for organising this wonderful occasion.
Please take note of some upcoming events at the Senior School during week 6:

Lord, open my ears to hear your voice and protect me from mistakes.
