From the Head of Senior School
Father Hosking and I recently visited the Year 8 Orientation Camp, which was held at the Adare campsite in Victor Harbor. Instructors from Beyond Limits Outdoor Education facilitated the camp, and activities included raft making, kayaking, body boarding, beach games, flying kiwi, shelter building, tribal games, brain twister, and a ride to Port Elliot. These activities are designed to develop initiative, teamwork, collaboration, communication, and leadership skills.
I was particularly encouraged by the camp’s focus on getting to know others in the year level. Our sincere thanks go to Ms Tara Davey for her dedicated leadership and to all the staff who volunteered to be part of such a special three days with the Year 8 students.
Friday 13 March is the National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence, and school communities across Australia stand united to find workable solutions that address bullying and violence. The Bullying. No Way! website for Australian schools at https://bullyingnoway.gov.au/YourRole/Pages/For-Parents-and-carers.aspx is a great resource for parents and caregivers
As a Jesuit school, it is important that we continue to build a school culture that encourages, promotes, and manifests Men and Women for Others every single day, every single moment.
