From the Head of Senior School
Once again, welcome to 2020, in particular those new to the Senior School community. On the first day of term, each year level held an assembly, where their Year Level Coordinator presented this year’s theme, as they prepare to embark on the exciting year ahead. As I walk around the College and visit the students in their classrooms, I have been very impressed by the overwhelming spirit of commitment and generosity of our wonderful students and dedicated staff.
It is always good to return after the long break and see the great work carried out by the maintenance team, and I thank Mr Neville Turnbull for his leadership in this area. We are very grateful for the newly refurbished Year 7 classrooms, which will also include a variety of new furniture allowing for the flexibility in using the space to support a variety of pedagogies. The holidays have also given us the opportunity to refurbish one of the science laboratories, which will now cater well for a wide range of creative science activities, and install the much-appreciated shelters at the two designated drop-off zones.
Thank you for your attendance at the year level information evenings held this week, as it is essential that we as educators and parents work in partnership together, to support our students on their journey of becoming men and women for others.
Please take note of some upcoming events at the Senior School during Term 1 week 3:
Senior School Assembly – Friday 14 February
Summer sports program commences
We ask God’s blessing for a great year.
Mr Phil Donato
Head of Senior School
