From the Head of Junior School
Students in Year 6 Gold unpacked the Ignatian virtues at this week’s liturgy, identifying which saints modelled the virtues of our student profile. As with the saints of old, our children already embody these characteristics in varying degrees and, with nurturing over time, it is our hope that they too will make their mark on the world, living in accordance with the values they uphold.
Years 3 to 6 finished the week with the highly anticipated College Athletics Carnival. In the spirit of collaboration and competition, our children enjoyed participating in a number of track, field, and novelty events for their Houses. As with the nature of any competitive carnival, there are winners who rise above with others within a competitive field, but the highlight was the spirit in which the children actively supported each other, both celebrating the triumphs and riding the lows together. The atmosphere was especially electrifying when seeing the combined campus 3 to 12 events unfold before their cheering peers. Well done to all who participated on the day, especially Campion as the winning Junior School House for 2020.
A special thankyou goes to all the parents who were able to join us for the day, especially those supporting the P&F cake stall. Such community events are always richer for your involvement, and we hope you enjoyed the day as much as we did.
