2019 Term 3 Week 7

2019 Term 3 Week 7
From the Principal
For one reason or another, it is usually only on rare occasions that I find myself able to spend much time at our IEY. Every time I am there though, I find it immensely enjoyable as the joy and delight in our youngest Ignatians as they engage in their learning is palpable for all to see. Last Thursday morning was one such occasion when I was able to visit our IEY for their pre-Father’s Day coffee... read more

The Senior School was graced by visits from the Year 3s and Year 6s this week. Our Year 6s attended a Transition Day where they had the opportunity to go on a tour of the senior campus and learn about classes and activities for Year 7 next year. The 83 students from our Junior School had the opportunity to meet the 66 Year 6 students coming into Year 7 from other schools. On Wednesday, the Year 3s came... read more

From the Students (Senior School)
Over the past two weeks, many students at the College participated in various sports and activities as part of the annual Intercol with Mercedes College. The shield tally got off to a slow start as we lost both cross country events on the first day of Intercol. Yet, over the next week and a half, that tally was reversed with the help of some spectacular performances in events such as the Open As girls’... read more

It was fantastic seeing how many fathers attended our morning coffee and Father’s Day liturgy on Monday. Year 1 Gold provided a beautiful liturgy reminding us of the importance of male role models in young children’s lives. Ours is a God of love, whose love for us is made tangible in the familial relationships we are gifted with. There is no greater gift children can receive than the tender... read more
