2019 Term 1 Week 7

2019 Term 1 Week 7
From the Principal
During the past week or so, I was fortunate to participate in two significant College events. The first of these were the College athletics carnivals held at the Senior School. This was the second year that we had held both Junior School (Years 3 to 6) and Senior School carnivals on the same day, and I think that the evidence is pretty clear that this move has been a resounding success. For all multi-campus... read more

Volunteers are an important part of our community, and enrich the College’s ability to provide meaningful programs and services to our students and wider community. Friday 15 March is the National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence, and school communities across Australia stand united to find workable solutions that address bullying and violence. I recently visited the Year Eight Orientation Camp, which was held this year at the Adare campsite in Victor Harbor. “Stop calling them soft skills…they’re essential skills.” I recently joined Twitter. Not to increase my ‘social profile’, but rather to use it as an educational tool. What I’ve discovered is that most of the worlds best and most influential educators use Twitter as a way of sharing research and information. It is an amazing platform for professional development.... read more

We have now passed the half way mark of the term and for many in our community the summer school holidays are becoming a distant memory. The lessons, readings, assessments, activities, practice sessions and a myriad of other commitments are filling our days. How do we stop and take a moment out from all this? The upcoming issue of the Manresa magazine has a focus on the Examen prayer and how it can... read more
