Homepage Community Business Directory Symphony of Style Eco Gowns Symphony of Style Eco Gowns Retail I am an Adelaide Eco Fashion Designer and Tailor who is taking positive steps towards producing Slow Fashion. I hold an Advanced Dip of Fashion Design & Merchandising and a Bachelor of Education. I am passionate and committed including vintage components in my Event Wear and sourcing materials locally to limit my carbon footprint of the earth. I love meandering around the Vintage stores and Auction Houses finding Antique Lace & Vintage Fabric, end of Rolls and Beaded & Embroidered Remnants that can be woven into elegant & glamourous Bespoke Event Wear. My aesthetic is classic elegance and glamour, capturing the essence of the Siren of the Silver Screen. Inspiration for my designs often comes from the Vintage piece purchased, taking into consideration the size, drape and texture of the fabric or lace. From there I will start the design process using my Dress Form, playing with ideas by draping the fabric over it observing how it sit sits and cascades. I then complete a Design Sketch, Illustration, Trade Sketch and pattern. The production process then begins with a toile and then a final garment. All of this happens in my home studio in the Adelaide FootHills. I believe there is a groundswell of consumers who are looking at ways of reducing the impact of waste, unethical manufacturing, and unsustainable resource consumption. Education is the key is assisting a shift of consumer attitudes & behaviour in making a commitment to slow fashion. I sell my Bespoke Wear through Instagram and at Local Markets. I also offer a made to measure service for those special occasions and complete bridal and Evening wear alterations.
