Music Ensembles and Choirs

Choirs

  • Concert Choir (Years 7 – 12) Is open to all students who enjoy singing
  • Arrupe Vocal Ensemble (Years 7 – 12) Is an intermediate group specialising in singing in harmony. Entry is by audition only.
  • Senior Vocal Ensemble (Years 9 – 12) Is an advanced group specialising in singing in harmony. Entry is by audition only.

String Ensembles

  • Bellarmine String Ensemble (Years 7 – 9) Is a beginner to intermediate group for string players only.
  • Ignatius Orchestra (Years 7 – 12) Is a full orchestra open to players of orchestral instruments
  • Senior Chamber Players (Years 10 – 12) Is an advanced string quartet#
  • Cello Ensemble (Years 7 – 12) Is open to all players of the Cello
  • Guitar Ensemble (Years 7 – 12) Is open to all players of the Guitar

Jazz Ensembles

  • Bellarmine Stage Band (Years 7 – 10) Is an intermediate ensemble specialising in Big Band music. Entry is by audition only
  • Senior Stage Band (Years 10 – 12) Is an advanced ensemble specialising in Big Band music. Entry is by audition only#

Concert Bands

  • Bellarmine Concert Band (Years 7 – 11) Is an intermediate ensemble
  • Senior Concert Band (Years 10 – 12) Is an advanced ensemble#

Other Small Ensembles

  • From time-to-time other small ensembles are formed as the demand becomes obvious. This may include but are not necessarily limited to:
  • Percussion Ensemble
  • Saxophone Ensemble
  • Brass Ensemble

Orator Eloquens (Years 7 – 12)

This society encompasses both Debating and Public Speaking with regular competitions held throughout Terms 2 & 3

Philosophy Club (Years 7 – 12)

Students work as a group discussing philosophical topics and build toward competition in the Philosothon

STIGIT – Saint Ignatius Information Technology (Years 7 – 12)

This group allows students to explore various elements of media and technology through various channels.

  • Photography
  • Design
  • Robotics
  • Coding
  • The Homegroup (a “news” broadcast for the College Community)

Theatre

College Musical * (Years 7- 11)

Held biennially, the next production will be in 2023. Allowing students to explore performance through acting, singing, dancing and technical elements.

Theatre Arts* (Years 7 – 11)

Held biennially, the next production will be in 2022. Allowing students to explore elements of theatrical production.

Tournament of Minds (Years 7 – 12)

Students work in teams toward competition.

* Courses are held every alternate year.
