2020 Term 2 Week 6

2020 Term 2 Week 6
From the Principal
I remember thinking to myself a few weeks ago that we must eventually arrive at a time when COVID-19 is not the dominant story headlining each news bulletin. Little did I imagine that the catastrophe of a world pandemic would be replaced in the news by something like the events in the USA over the past week. As an avid consumer of news, I feel like I’ve been watching an unravelling of civil behaviour... read more
From the Rector
Australia has produced some holy people. We are privileged to see them each day, if we have the eyes to see. There are indeed saints who walk among us. So far only one has officially been recognised and canonised. Mary of the Cross MacKillop (1842−1909) is the Hero of Faith for our Year 8 community service program this term. From the Head of Junior School
Over the last two weeks, the children have had a chance to reflect on the story of Pentecost. It is easy to lose the significance of this event some 2000 years later, but it is considered the birth of the early Church. This event is mirrored in the journey voluntarily undertaken by students at the College through the sacrament of Confirmation each year. Inspired by the same Spirit as the disciples,... read more
