Homepage News/Calendar The Ignatian Newsletter Year 7 and 8 AFLW Crow’s Cup Carnival Article information Time 15 May 2023 The Crow’s Cup AFLW Carnival is an interschool carnival aimed at encouraging participants to give football a go in a fun and safe environment. There was much anticipation around this year’s carnival since winning overall when last involved in 2021. The team played 5 minor rounds against various schools and finished undefeated therefore earning a place in the Grand Final play off. The final game was against Charles Campbell College who we had beaten in the minor round, but to their credit and after a tight contest, beat us by a narrow margin of 5 points. Whilst we were a little disappointed to lose the Final, the players should be very proud of their efforts throughout the day. All games were played with grit and determination with some very impressive passages of play. Special mention to Nieve Hannon-Tan who had a great day when playing forward, scoring many of our goals, Amelia Pertini who tackled ferociously throughout the entire day, Ava Thomson who rucked very well with many score involvements, and plenty of speed provided by Lola Whiteman and Evie Till. All players contributed to a very successful day. A special thank you to Mr Hennigs for coaching on the day and to our regular coach, Mr Grundy.
