The Addams Family is right around the corner! This is the last instalment in our ‘meet the cast & crew’ series, but don’t be too sad because that means there’s only 5 days until opening night. We have a hectic few days before then though, as we put the finishing touches on this musical; as we speak, lighting and sound is being plotted, set finalised, costumes fitted, and dances rehearsed. Tickets are still available for the 16th, 17th & 18th at 7:30pm at: https://events.humanitix.com/addams-family, you won’t want to miss this!

In our final instalment of ‘meet the cast & crew’, we have the talented Alicia Hammond, Will O’Callaghan, and Hannah McBain, actors of Grandma, Lurch, and Pugsley Addams. This ragtag crew are a handful to say the least. Read on to find out more!

Grandma – Alicia Hammond

1. Who is Grandma?

Grandma is probably one of the more manic characters of the show! She is quite random and often says some pretty weird things. In saying this, she is quite wise when it comes to giving advice. She shares a wholesome moment with Pugsley which shows her wisdom and introduces a bit of normality into her character, but besides that, she's just a wacky little lady!

2. What about the character of Grandma do you like?

I like Grandma because I have never played a role like her and she has offered a big challenge but an opportunity for growth in my personal acting journey.

3. What is your favourite part of the musical?

My favourite part of the musical is probably the dance break in the opening number 'When You're an Addams' because it’s so fun and quirky.

4. What are you looking forward for the audience to see?

Definitely Neve and Jess being insanely perfect in their roles.

5. What’s your favourite line in the show?

'Call me cougar'

Pugsley Addams – Hannah McBain

1. Who is Pugsley?

Pugsley is Gomez and Morticia’s son, Wednesday’s 11-year-old brother, and the youngest member of the Addams Family. As many young boys do, he loves spiders, explosives, being tortured and stirring up all kinds of trouble.

2. What about the character of Pugsley do you like?

Pugsley is so much fun to play not only because I get to experience first-hand what it is like to be a mischievous and annoying younger sibling, but also because his connection to his sister Wednesday means so much to him. He is disgusted by her new boyfriend, Lucas, and will do everything in his power to get her back.

3. What is your favourite part of the musical?

Definitely the opening scene – I have loved learning the song and choreography, and the Addams Family Musical in general has some amazing musical pieces that I am so excited to see our talented cast perform.

4. What are you looking forward for the audience to see?

I can’t wait to watch the audience’s reaction to the various torture devices and weapons designed by our amazing set team. Not to worry though, they are all fake and completely safe, and there have been no accidents… yet.

5. What’s your favourite line in the show?

Lurch: “Grghhh”

Lurch – Will O’Callaghan

1. Who is Lurch?

Lurch is the beloved zombie butler of the Addams Family.

2. What about the character of Lurch do you like?

I like how Lurch uses his physicality to develop story and purpose. I also enjoy his in-depth background story.

3. What is your favourite part of the musical?

The progression of the relationship between Mal and Alice Beineke

4. What are you looking forward for the audience to see?

Grrrngh

5. What’s your favourite line in the show?

‘So, you’re still going to torture me?’ (Pugsley to Wednesday)
