Saint Ignatius’ College would like congratulate Year 3 student Sam Turner for his remarkable efforts in being crowned the U9 State Pentathlon Champion over the weekend!

Sam stood tall to go from fourth after two events, into second, and then first where he never looked back!

On his way to claiming the gold medal, Sam also set new personal bests in the 800m and shot-put events, and despite a slow-start in the long jump after fouling twice, Sam dug deep and sealed his win on the final jump!

What an exceptional achievement Sam, keep striving for gold!
