On Tuesday, a group of middle years girls competed in the State Knockout T-20 Cricket Championships against Kildare College and Roma Mitchell College.

The first match versus Kildare saw Martha and Cady put on an amazing 94-run partnership with some excellent stroke play and running between wickets to set a very good total to protect. Some accurate bowling saw wickets to Ruby, Cady, Kemi, and Martha seal a 25-run victory progressing the girls in to the next round.

Against Roma Mitchell, Cady, and Martha against opened the batting with spectacular success, eclipsing the 50-run mark again. Runs to Funke, Lucy, Charlotte, Ruby and Leila saw Saint Ignatius finish with a total of 78.

Roma Mitchell’s batters were too good and were able to chase down the tally with 8 overs to spare.

The girls had a blast playing on Bourke Oval and are looking forward to next season’s knockout championships. A big thank you to Ms Slade for organising the event and coaching the team.
