Over the course of Term 1, Year 9 Art students have explored the depiction of inanimate subject matter – typically commonplace objects, to create a Still Life work of art. Through the introduction of basic drawing techniques – specifically composition, proportion, ellipses, positive and negative space; students drew from direct observation. After which, they rendered depth in their artwork using the mediums of charcoal and white conte to achieve a sense of realism, resulting in a very successful outcome.
