On Wednesday 16 March, eighteen Ignatian swimmers participated in the East Adelaide SAPSASA Swimming Carnival. Students were supported by Mrs Claire Duncan (Coach), Ms Wenting Hao and Mrs Polyak and a large collection of family support.

We were so impressed with the students swimming and their behaviour on the day. For many students it was their first swim competition and we were proud of their willingness to have a go. Whilst official results will take a few days to get back to the College, we are confident that several will have qualified for the State Carnival early in Term 2, representing both the College and the East Adelaide District team.

There were also several students who placed first in their races. Fantastic swimming by:

Adella Jia - 50 Free, 50 Back, 50 Butterfly
Sukti Patel – 50 Free, 50 Breast
Thomas Mazur – 50 Free, 50 Breast, 50 Butterfly
Aleksandra Giro – 50 Free, 50 Back, 50 Butterfly
Amelia Kelly – 50 Free, 50 Breast, 50 Butterfly
Aidan Lee – 50 Free, 50 Breast
Alice Cappo – 50 Breast

Our next competition is Division 1 of the Catholic Primary Schools Sports Association on Monday March 21 where we also get to introduce our Year 3 swimmers to competition swimming. We look forward to all of the students continuing to improve their times and enjoy the day.
