Last Friday 22nd September saw the Saint Ignatius’ Year 3-6 students descend on the North Adelaide Aquatic Centre for the 2023 House Swimming Carnival. This years carnival could well be the final one held at the North Adelaide site prior to it’s demolition and new build scheduled part way through next year.

The House leaders arrived early at the pool to decorate their allocated House areas according to their theme for the day. The atmosphere began to build when students started streaming in and setting themselves up in the grandstands. Looking back at the previous 3 years results, there had been a different victorious House team leaving Kostka the challenge to be the fourth team in as many years to claim the shield.

Although the scoring was close over the course of the day, Regis led from start to finish to claim a well-deserved victory. Regis Leaders Amelia Kelly and Eli Anderson were pivotal to the victory and were ably assisted by their committed team. There were great moments throughout the day whether it be personal best times or even students trying an event for the very first time. The memories made will be lifelong for many of the students present and especially those from Regis.
