On Wednesday evening, November 15th 2023 the Junior School held their Cocurricular Awards evening in the Tappeiner Gymnasium. Students from both Sports and Arts and Activities were honoured for their achievements across the year with a variety of awards. It was fantastic to see our newest additions to the awards night from Music and STIGIT (Innovative Technologies), as well as activities like Junior Strings, Liturgical Choir and Debating Skills being honoured for the first time. This is in addition to our Speech Day Award Winners for Sport (Amelia Kelly and Christian Iacopetta) and Arts and Activities (Katya Raschella) who were honoured earlier.

Students and parents were treated to an engaging guest speaker old scholar, Will Rice (Class of 2020) who spoke of his formation in Cocurricular Sport at Saint Ignatius College which led him to follow his passion for cricket, playing abroad for Matlock in the East Midlands of England. We also heard from our Head of Cocurricular, Jessica Morrish who has been an integral part of supporting the growth and development of our programs at the Junior School. Huge thanks go to our incredible coaches, program leaders and supporting staff who give up their time to support our extensive Cocurricular programs. We extend our gratitude to all the parents, grandparents and friends who have come out to trainings, games, competitions, and performances this year. Your support is so appreciated by the College, as well as your children, who could not be part of these amazing programs without you!

We look forward to seeing the Cocurricular selections coming in soon for 2024, and wish everyone a safe and joyous holiday break.
