Over the last three days we were offered the opportunity to participate in the Inaugural Jesuit Ecological conference. Here we spent three days working online with like-minded students from Jesuit schools all around Australia. Guided by Sue Martin, an ecological leader within the Jesuit Organisation, we were able to gain insight around what we can do in our community and school to have a positive impact on our environment. Sharing what we’re doing as a school, we were able to inspire others, and likewise we were able to take inspiration from them. We have emerged from this experience with a desire to reduce our community’s environmental impact and we have begun discerning appropriate ways to achieve this through whole school involved in initiatives and involvement from both students and staff.

We would like to thank Mr Hauschild for inviting us to participate in this experience and for his support. We’re so grateful for this amazing opportunity, where we were able to learn and develop a greater understanding of how we can better care for our common home.

This image is a mandala using natural materials that students had to scavenge from their grounds, which they then shared with the other schools.
