Health, Wellbeing and Cyber Safety at the Junior School

In Weeks 3, 4 and 5 at the Junior School, students in Years 1-6 have taken part in health ‘missions’ and cyber safety ‘missions’ run by Richard Rowland from FYI Drug and Health Education. Richard has a wonderful and entertaining way of imparting important information using new and exciting interactive technology.

Students in Year 1 and 2 entered a ‘Top Secret’ inflatable classroom that transported them to a place where they became ‘Junior Secret Agents’. Topics covered in the ‘missions’ included ‘Mission to Mars’ (Year 1), and ‘Cheer up Charlie’ (Year 2). The focus of these ‘missions’ was friendship and resilience.

The ’missions’ for students in Year 3 -6 centred around cyber safety. Topics addressed included online privacy, staying safe while using messaging platforms and online chat and cyber safety rules.

The way the students embraced the ‘missions’ was terrific to see and hopefully the ‘missions’ have given them many strategies and learnings to assist them in the years to come.
