Inspired by Adelaide-based designer and artist, Tiff Manuell, the Year 9 Design students have made laptop cases. Students have gone through the design process from writing a brief to making the final prototype. Each laptop case was created with a unique design painted onto canvas, covered with PVC plastic and hand sewn with leather strapping or bookbinding thread. The inside was inserted with either foam or felt to protect the laptop. The final prototypes have been very successful in demonstrating students understanding of how to design and create a product from start to finish.
