Hello to all our Ignatian families and welcome to 2023, we are looking forward to getting to know all existing and new families and creating wonderful memories.

As we approach a new year, we are excited to share many exciting events and community gatherings.

A great deal of work goes into holding and running events to bring the community together, and we are very grateful for all the support many individuals and families in our community have provided in the past. In 2023 we will again need support and help from families to continue to provide events that foster Ignatian spirit across all campuses.

We recognise that while many parents and friends would love to be involved, not everyone has the time. This is where we would love to invite you to be involved in some other ways.

Please identify where you could support the Parents and Friends Committee and get in touch with the P&F via pandf@ignatius.sa.edu.au . We fully understand that things happen from time to time that could impact how you can help.

1. Volunteer your time to support Parents and Friends events
In 2023 there will be various events that you can volunteer to help with, and all help is greatly appreciated. Even an hour of your time can make the world of difference, assisting with set up, on a stall or pack down is greatly appreciated.

These include:

  • Friday 10 March - Junior School Athletics Carnival, P&F Food and Drink Stalls
  • Saturday 1 April - Family Fun Fair
  • Sunday 29 October Junior School Colour Run
  • TBA End-of-Year Junior School Christmas Carols

2. Class / Year Level Representative – 2023

Each year, we look to our community and ask for volunteers to be a Class Representative for your child’s class. In the Senior School this generally moves to Year Level role. It is a wonderful opportunity to be a part of your child's education and the Saint Ignatius’ College community.

The purpose of the Parent Representative role is to help foster good communication in the school and to assist in the development of the school community.

Together with other Class /Year level Representatives, you are able to organise activities and events for families to meet each other, and assist helping all families to feel part of the College community.

Both Nadia Cocca (Junior School Class Rep Coordinator) and Grace Eliseo (Senior School Class Rep Coordinator), from our Parents and Friends Committee will support all class reps throughout the year, they can be contacted via pandf@ignatius.sa.edu.au.

If would like to be a Class Representative in the Junior School / or Year Level Representative in the Senior School or would like to know a bit more information about this, please email pandf@ignatius.sa.edu.au

Joining your year levels Facebook Page

Due to changes with privacy laws, the College no longer provide class contact lists to the Parent and Friends. Each year level has their own Facebook page/forum, which has been historically created by parents of each year level. The Parents and Friends Association have a presence in each group, to help build community events, assist class reps and keep consistency across all groups associated with the college.

It is for the use of parents and caregivers and has been created to foster a spirit of cooperation and community. It is a place to seek and share information and ideas. It is not a place to air grievances or vent negativity. These connections prove helpful when you have multiple and early drop off or pickups for Cocurricular.

Any photos of children are to be uploaded to the group ONLY EVER WITH THE EXPRESS PERMISSION OF THE CHILD’S PARENTS. No child should ever be “tagged” in a photo.

Our sincerest hope is that this forum helps parents and caregivers feel more connected to one another, to their child’s learning, and to the broader school community. We are always open to any feedback or suggestions. This is your community to build.

Below we have outlined the name of the Facebook group to search for your child’s year level. We ask that you please answer the questions to identify yourself before being added to the group. Only parents and caregivers of the year level are allowed on the page, and this will be checked with the College Advancement Office. We appreciate your patience as we navigate this new process and confirm group members.
