The Season of Creation 2022 commenced on 1 September with the World Day of Prayer for Creation and ends on 4 October, the Feast of St Francis of Assisi. It is a special time for our College community to pray and work together to care for our common home. The website, God in Nature, has some resources from the Australian Jesuits. We received a letter this week from Charlie Borg, President of the Newton Conference of the St Vincent de Paul Society. He thanked the staff and students involved with the recent Food for FORT campaign for Vinnies. Charlie was so grateful to parents for their abundant food donations. Our efforts were so generous that it was surplus to the Newton Conference requirements, so they were able to share the donations with the neighbouring Vinnies conferences at Hectorville and at Dernancourt. They too thanked Saint Ignatius’ College for this extraordinary support. A special thankyou goes to the Year 9 students who helped carry the food to the cars. Charlie acknowledged that Saint Ignatius’ College has been involved with the Newton Conference since its inception in 1983, and it continues with our help to support the many needy in our community.
