At the Senior School Assembly on Monday, our Senior Leaders gave us an update on their projects. They acknowledged the good start to 2022 and the way in which students have embraced this year’s move to working together in House groups. They reminded us of our Winter Appeal, which aims at providing clothing and toiletries for Catherine House, the St Vincent De Paul Society, and the Moore Street Adelaide Day Centre. We are truly blessed with such devoted men and women for others in 2022.

At this assembly, I described some of the architectural designs for the new art, design, and technology building. The presentation prompted a buzz in the corridors as students and staff look forward to this state-of-the-art facility in 2023. On Thursday, the Art/Design and Technology staff met with the team of architects from Architects Ink, led by Old Ignatian Marco Spinelli (Class of 1981). The interior classroom spaces and finishes will have a vibrant look and be very practical. Below are some promotion boards for the project. The new Art, Design and Technology Building for the Senior School Campus is designed to ignite innovation. Intentionally refined, the building highlights the beauty in simplicity, allowing the creativity of the students’ work to be the focal point. It celebrates art, design and technology through a contemporary yet timeless building that showcases the College’s progressive thinking.

The winter sport season is now under way for all our teams. We wish our students well as they represent the College in the various endeavours in our extensive co-curricular program. These activities play an important role in the Jesuit education philosophy to develop the whole person. Best wishes for your participation and performance.
