Homepage News/Calendar The Ignatian Newsletter From the Head of Senior School Article information Time 27 Feb 2023 The Catholic Co-Educational Swimming Carnival was held on Tuesday night at the North Adelaide Aquatic Centre. We came third overall, and we congratulate the swimming team on winning three shields for the Under 13 and 14 Boys and Open Girls. They narrowly missed out on the shield for U16 Girls by only two points. We are grateful to Mrs Lisa McDonald and Mr Matt Panos for their thorough planning and dedicated work to make this an enjoyable event for all. We also thank our many parent and Old Ignatian volunteers who assisted with duties at the poolside. On Wednesday night, Mrs Kathryn Wills, the Gifted and Talented Coordinator, arranged an evening in support of the parents of students in the Challenge Program. Dr Rebecca Napier, Director of Gifted Pathways, was the guest speaker, and she presented on the topics of ‘The Gifted Journey’ and ‘The Challenges of Perfectionism in Gifted Students’. We constantly remind students that life is not always perfect: it’s about the journey and not only about the destination, and we encourage them to be authors of our own future and to not wait to seize an opportunity. We have the great privilege of seeing our young people striving to do their very best each day, whether it’s competing in the House athletics 3000 m event on the oval at 7:30 am or solving inverse functions in the Year 12 Specialist Mathematics class with Mr Rossi. Let’s make the most of this wonderful journey ahead of us in 2023! Phil DonatoHead of Senior School Previous From the Faith and Service Team Next Upcoming Dates - Senior School
