Homepage News/Calendar The Ignatian Newsletter From the Head of Junior School Article information Time 28 Jul 2022 Welcome back to Term 3 after what I hope has been a great break for all our families. I extend a special welcome to all our Midyear Reception families and those joining our community for the first time. I hope your time with us at the College is rich and rewarding. We are blessed with a term full with ongoing sporting and musical engagements, Zoo Snooze excursions, sacramental programs and the like, none of which I am taking for granted at this point in time. In order to help protect our community, I remind parents of what Peter Coffey has already communicated as per the guidance of our health authorities − that masks are very strongly encouraged for all students of Years 3 to 12, are asked of our staff, and are to be worn by all visitors onsite while indoors. I thank you for your understanding and support in this. This week an overwhelming majority of Year 6 students opted into the Peer Mediation Leadership Program. It is a program designed to assist students to self-manage conflict resolution in the school playground. This nationally recognised program provides a fantastic opportunity for all involved to develop their leadership skills while acting as mentors for our younger students. It is a natural fit with the College’s notion of formation and cura personalis, the care for the individual, pervading all that we do, which is reflected in the relationships embodied within our College community.
