Our Grandparents and Special Friends’ Morning saw a great number of families welcomed by our community on Monday. Our students shared some of their musical talents in the Tappeiner Gymnasium where our guests had the opportunity to relax with coffee in hand. There is nothing more special for these children than to share of their experience of school with you, and they loved taking you into their classrooms and their lived schooling experience.

We are very grateful to the large number of grandparents who purchased a book for the library with a commemorative plaque bearing their grandchild’s name. All those whose generous contributions raised $2300 worth of donations in books for our Mary Mackillop Library. Our children are very lucky to receive this gift!

The grandparents of our full-year Reception classes were able to join the whole school liturgy led by Reception classes. Beautiful messages were shared of a grandchild’s love for their grandparents, acknowledging everything from the warmth they exude to how they give the best squeezes!

This special morning remains a unique opportunity for us to welcome extended family members to the school. At Ignatius we don’t talk about enrolling students but families. Families are the first educators of your children. It is from you that they learn what love is, and how to love and of their place in the world through your lived example.

Thank you, grandparents for joining us. You remind us of what love is and you remind us of who we are.
