Homepage News/Calendar The Ignatian Newsletter From the Head of Junior School Article information Time 24 Oct 2023 This term has begun with vigour, with all co-curricular training and games commencing from week 1. Most exciting has been our Year 6 musical ‒ Robin and the Sherwood Hoodies. This proved to be a fantastic opportunity to celebrate and promote the artistic talents of the College’s primary students. Dress rehearsal in the Miguel Pro Auditorium The facilities of the Mary Glowrey Centre, with the state-of-the-art Miguel Pro Auditorium, provided the perfect opportunity for our Year 6 students to build their acting, dancing, and singing skills through this high-energy and exciting musical. The staff have loved seeing all children blossom in confidence and immerse themselves in this rich learning experience. Almost every student in the Junior School enjoyed the experience through multiple productions in readiness for what were Saturday’s big performances in the College’s Flynn Theatre at Athelstone. The feeling was electric as the stage came to life with an all-singing and all-dancing cast. Live performance in the Flynn Theatre If you can’t see it, you can’t be it. The talented Year 6 students won’t know the impact they have made this week in planting the vision of who our younger students can become. And I don’t think there was a student who saw this production, feeling like they wouldn’t want to be on stage. Congratulations to our talented Year 6 students whose collective efforts have produced such a highly memorable production for all to enjoy. Our hats off to you!
