The courage to say ‘yes’

One person who had the courage to say ‘yes’ changed the course of human history over 2000 years ago. On Monday we celebrated the Feast of the Annunciation of the Lord, in which Mary’s cooperation was needed for God’s light and love to break into the world. In many ways, this represents the call to life given to each of us. The search for beauty, truth, and goodness in a person’s life is not an invitation to be fearful but a call to deeper faith, to trust that God takes nothing that is truly human from us. We are all invited to be co-creators with our loving God to respond to the signs of the times and live generously, justly, and even at times courageously in response to His call.

In the Mass, we commissioned the new Student Representative Council elect for 2022. Leadership starts with a willingness to say ‘yes’. We are grateful to have many students putting themselves forward from each class for this opportunity to serve our community. We congratulate our SRC on their election and wish them every success in their opportunity to make a difference, Deo Gloria.

Next week presents an opportunity for parents and caregivers to discuss the continued learning journey of their children with their respective class teachers. We both want what is best for your children. It is so powerful for us to openly share our expectations of how we can continue to nurture their growth according to their evolving needs. We look forward to building this shared understanding with you through next week’s meetings.
