Live simply and love generously

Year 5 Gold led our liturgy this week, unpacking the theme for our 2022 Project Compassion focus: For All Future Generations. This year’s theme is an expression of hope and reminds us that the good that we do today will extend and impact the lives of generations to come. It invites us to make the world a better place by working together now and finding long-term solutions to global issues to end poverty, promote justice, and uphold the dignity of all people. Through supporting Caritas Australia over the next 40 days of Lent, we are all encouraged to live simply and love generously.

Situated on the back fields of our Athelstone Campus with the splendour of the hills in full view, our annual Years 3 to 6 Sports Day was a fantastic day. Although held under different circumstances this year, the children were as engaged as ever in all their track and field events. It was wonderful having so many of our extended parent community joining us in great company and participating in the Year 6 student vs Parent tug-a-war; I’m sure the parents will win the day next time! Thank you to all the Parents & Friends who generously provided delicious cakes and treats for sale, which went down well with children and adults alike. Well done to all the children who competed with great spirit of collaboration and competition, cheering all participants coming over the line regardless of House and placement. Final congratulations must go to the rising power of Regis House, who off the back of last year’s swimming carnival won the Sports Day for the first time since 2013!
