The future of Cricket is looking bright with these future senior players and coaches at the fore

On Tuesday 21 March, 42 Junior School cricketers from Years 4-6 developed their cricket skills in a coached session facilitated by our Senior School cricketers from Years 10-12.

In line with two of our Co-curricular strategic priorities, Student Formation and Coach Formation, we are working toward a Participation to Performance Stream, such that each Co-curricular Program will provide students with participation experiences for all who nominate; additional development opportunities to improve performance; and distinctive performance events.

This is the first of these additional opportunities in Cricket, providing development in playing skills for the Junior School players and development in coaching skills for the Senior School students.

The Junior School cricketers rotated through skills-focused stations for batting, bowling and throwing and catching for fielding. Under guidance of the Cricket staff, the Senior School students designed the stations in the lunchtimes leading up to it and provided feedback, tips and encouragement to the younger players throughout the session.

The future of Cricket is looking bright with these future senior players and coaches at the fore.
