Homepage News/Calendar The Ignatian Newsletter Senior School Aerobics Article information Time 14 Mar 2023 Aerobics is a co-curricular activity which requires an enormous commitment, with trainings scheduled three times a week. The year begins with fitness and trials, so that we can best determine the appropriate levels and teams. This year the College is entering five Aerobics teams in the FISAF (Federation of International Sport Aerobics & Fitness) competition. It is an international sport aerobics competition with over 30 member countries around the world. FISAF Australia is the Australian Association responsible for the development, promotion and regulation of the sport aerobics competition in Australia, and competition opportunities are available for beginners through to an advanced level. This year Miss Zara Toffoli (Class of 2020), a skilled aerobics participant and old scholar has accepted the position of Head Coach of the College’s Aerobics Squad. Zara has been an integral part of our coaching squad for several years, and she is well respected by all the members of the squad. I am very grateful to Zara and look forward to supporting her as the teams prepare for the Super Series event early next term. In addition, we have many old scholars who have returned to coach a team; their skills and enthusiasm for the sport are appreciated by all the girls and are the core of the College’s success in this sport. The senior girls vote each year for Aerobics Captains. This year the girls have voted for the following two Captains: Sara Ciccozzi and Camille Gauducheau Both girls have been involved in this sport for many years and their passion and commitment are admired by their peers. The FISAF Championships begin with the Super Series event to be held at the Helen Reid Hall, Hyde Park on Saturday, 20th May 2023. We invite you to pencil these dates in your calendar and come along and experience the strength and vibrancy of this popular sport.
