Homepage News/Calendar The Ignatian Newsletter Aerobics Skill Development Article information Time 28 Feb 2023 At Saint Ignatius’ College we promote coach formation, and thus like to ensure our Aerobics coaches are continuously upskilled so that they can deliver the highest quality training sessions. On Friday evening 24th February, our Aerobics coaches participated in a training session with the extremely talented and experienced Gina Bryant from Vibe Aerobics. Gina is a national Aerobics champion herself, runs a successful Aerobics club, Vibe Aerobics, as well as works for Les Mills International as a presenter. Gina shared what a training session should look like, how to implement a greater variety of strength and skills and encourage greater interaction between the teams so there is improved cohesion amongst the girls in the Ignatian squad. A highlight was when Gina asked our coaches to each describe what they loved about the sport, before asking them to articulate how they would cultivate that same feeling in their own teams. It was certainly a fantastic development opportunity, and our coaches left feeling enthusiastic, re-energised and extremely excited about the year ahead. The training sessions at the Senior School have also started well. With trials now behind us, each team is learning choreography and commencing their preparation towards the first round of competition early in Term Two. FISAF Australia has provided us with a new platform of performance opportunities, and all members of the Senior School Aerobics squad are eager to showcase their skills and passion in this vibrant sport.
