Aerobics 2022

Aerobics is a co-curricular activity which requires an enormous commitment, with trainings scheduled three times a week (two early morning starts and Friday afternoons).

The year begins with fitness and trials, so that we can best determine the appropriate levels and teams. This year we will be entering six Aerobics teams into the School Aerobics Secondary State competition. Thankfully, we have many old scholars who have offered to come back and coach a team; their skills and enthusiasm are appreciated by all the girls and are the core of the College’s success in this sport.

This year Miss Ruby Tynan, a skilled aerobics participant and International Gold medal aerobics athlete, has accepted the position of Head Coach of the College’s Aerobics Squad. Ruby has been an integral part of our coaching squad for several years, and she is well respected by all the members of the squad. I am very grateful to Ruby and look forward to supporting her as the teams prepare for the Preliminary State Finals early next term.

The senior girls vote each year for Aerobics Captains. This year the girls have voted for the following two Captains:

Captains of Aerobics - Maisie Keenihan and Lauren Bergamin

Both girls have been involved in this sport for many years and their passion and commitment are admired by their peers.

The School Aerobic Championships begin with the Regional Finals to be held at the Golden Grove Performing Arts Centre on either Friday, 20 May or Saturday, 21 May (dates and times are to be confirmed). We invite you to pencil these dates in your calendar and come along and experience the strength and vibrancy of this popular sport.
