Hugh Ranembe Boylan, Class of 2002

Current Role: Diplomat, Australian High Commission in New Delhi, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade
Area of speciality: International relations, international trade, diplomacy, negotiations

Mr Boylan is a diplomat and trade negotiator at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

Mr Boylan is currently Economic Counsellor at the Australian High Commission in New Delhi. Mr Boylan’s work covers Australia’s trade and investment relationship with India, as well as coordinating the Australian Government’s COVID-19 response in India (including shipment of humanitarian supplies). Mr Boylan has also completed a diplomatic posting in Islamabad, Pakistan.

Mr Boylan has also served as international and strategic adviser to the former Australian Minister for Defence, Senator the Hon. Linda Reynolds.
Mr Boylan was a member of the Australian negotiating teams for the Singapore-Australia Free Trade Agreement, Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement and has also worked on negotiations of the Australia-UK Free Trade Agreement, Indonesia-Australia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement and Pacific Alliance Free Trade Agreement.

Mr Boylan has also worked on Arms Control and African politics and security.
Mr Boylan holds a Masters' degree from Oxford University (MSc) and bachelors degrees (LLB (Hons), BCA (Hons)) from the University of Melbourne. Mr Boylan’s work at Oxford University focussed on African oil markets and energy politics.
Mr Boylan is a lawyer admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of New South Wales and the High Court of Australia. Mr Boylan worked as a solicitor at Allens Linklaters in Sydney, and briefly in political risk at Cross-Border Information (London).
At the University of Melbourne, Mr Boylan served as President of Newman College. Mr Boylan tutored Critical Criminal Law, Modern Literature and Corporate Law.

Carmine Ciccocioppo, Class of 1988

MBA qualified Business Leader with 20 years seasoned leadership experience driving business performance in complex and dynamic landscapes. Skilled strategist, influencer and negotiator with proven success delivering marketshare growth, cost reduction and efficiency. Managed multi-billion dollar asset bases and led change and compliance management in rapidly changing regulatory and commercial environments. Experienced in ‘ground-up’ contract development, project leadership and high level commercial negotiation.

Quang Doan, Class of 1991

Current Role: Director, Bentleys R&D Services
Area of speciality: Research and development, Government grants and incentives, professional services

Quang provides advisory and compliances professional services to assist clients in the STEM sector grow their businesses through accessing Government tax incentives and grants. He began his professional life as a scientist working in protein chemistry and cell culture research and development on innovative drug products, and over a 15-year technical career extended his skills in this profession to bioengineering roles focused on process development and technology transfer to cGMP manufacturing. Quang has a Bachelor in Biotechnology (Hons) and a PhD in chemical engineering. Since stepping across into a business advisory role over the last 8 years, Quang has leveraged his technical skills and experience to engage with companies undertaking R&D at a technical and scientific level and translate complex technical concepts for application to the R&D tax incentive laws and guidelines.

James Kitching, Class of 2002

Current Role: Director of Football Regulatory, FIFA
Area of speciality: International Sports Law, Sports Governance, Sports Regulation

James Kitching is an experienced senior international sports lawyer, specialising in football regulation and governance. James currently manages a multinational team of 50+ staff overseeing all aspects of the FIFA football regulatory framework, which includes the football transfer system, the dispute resolution system, eligibility to participate for national teams, and implementation of FIFA governance standards in associations.

Erica Panagakos, Class of 2006

Current Role: Director at Belperio Clark Lawyers
Area of speciality: Family Law, Mediation and Collaborative Practice.


Erica was admitted to practice in 2011, having graduated from the University of Adelaide with honours in 2010. Erica started her career in general practice at a long standing Adelaide law firm where she gained a solid grounding working on a variety of legal matters. Erica now practices predominantly in family law where she works hard to encourage sensible dispute resolution.
Having acted for a broad range of clients from individuals to large corporations, Erica is a passionate advocate and prides herself on delivering practical and cost effective legal advice.
Erica is a Collaboratively trained practitioner and is also a nationally accredited mediator.
Erica is fluent in Italian and attributes her strong work ethic and ‘can do’ attitude to the values instilled in her by her immigrant grandparents.
Erica supports the development of young lawyers in Adelaide through her involvement as a Chair of the Law Society of South Australia’s Young Lawyers’ Committee.
When she is not at the office or supporting the Port Adelaide Football Club, Erica enjoys cooking, fitness and spending time with her family and friends.
