Ignatius Early Years

Located at 58 Queen Street, Norwood, in a beautiful bungalow on the banks of second creek, Ignatius Early Years is home away from home for our three to five year olds.

Our approach to early learning is inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy of early childhood education, which is regarded as world best practice, and has been adapted to the Australian and Ignatian way of living and learning.

Our teachers aim to develop the child’s natural curiosity, imagination and creativity through play and exploration. We educate for the formation of the whole person – spiritually, socially, culturally, academically, physically and intellectually – so that they are filled with a lifelong love of learning.

At Ignatius Early Years, we are intent on creating a warm, caring and secure environment where children grow in confidence and self-esteem, and develop respect for each other and their world. Extensive thought has gone into both the indoor and outdoor learning settings with the child’s perspective in the forefront of our minds.

We encourage children to remain open to new ideas and others’ thinking. As educators, we recognise children are individuals, possessing a variety of experiences, knowledge and talents. Our aim is to facilitate each child’s unique learning potential.

Ignatius Early Years is an approved centre, meaning families can access both the Child Care Rebate and the Child Care Benefit – making care more affordable.

A catholic, co-educational school conducted by the Jesuits.
