Junior School Tuckshop
One cup of coffee - One person - One big change
With enough coffee anything is possible. It’s not always the big things that count, rather the little things collectively, like that first sip of coffee in the morning.
Today we are calling for support for this year’s major fundraising project - the Junior School Tuckshop. The tuckshop is more than just somewhere to buy food. Just as the kitchen is the heart of the home, it can be said that the tuckshop is the heart the school. It is where our young ones are nurtured. It is a place they can depend on to be cared for away from home. It is a warm, welcoming setting where they will always find a friendly face.
Our (very compact) tuckshop has been faithfully servicing the College community since 1951. Marie Hawkins, our wonderful Tuckshop Manager, and generous parent volunteers have always done an amazing job, caring for our students’ needs and individual wellbeing with limited space and equipment. As our community has grown, we have outgrown the space. The time has come to create new spacious facilities with modern equipment that will meet the current needs of our Junior School students and families. Plans are underway for the construction of a new tuckshop in a new location.
To kickstart our crusade we’re launching a ‘Shout-A-Coffee’ campaign to raise funds for this worthy project, because we believe in the power of one. And one coffee! If every Saint Ignatius' College parent donated the equivalent of just ONE cup of coffee a week for the whole year we could raise approximately $172,000. What a powerful difference for only $3.50 a week.
Additional donations are always welcome to assist in getting the project off the ground, just as we all sometimes require another coffee to do the same. We look forward to working with you and our entire Ignatian community in bringing our new tuckshop to life.
